Almonte Caps Great Week
Monday, May 28th, 2012
It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Southern League, but last week Denny Almonte of the Jackson Generals reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Almonte rocked opposing pitching for a .500 average (9-18), 3 home runs and 11 RBIs to come away with the award.

So far on the season Almonte is hitting .242 with 8 home runs, 35 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has 43 hits and played in 46 games.
